Description:
Epitope tagging is a widely accepted technique that fuses an epitope peptide to a certain protein as a marker for gene expression. With this technique, gene expression can be easily monitored on Western blotting, immunoprecipitation and immunofluorescence utilizing an antibody that recognizes such an epitope. The Myc-Tag (EQKLISEEDL) corresponds to the partial peptide sequence of the human c-myc gene product. Western blot analysis of 293T cells transfected with 6Myc/Heparanase (lane 1) and 6Myc/cdc25 (lane 2), probed with Myc-tag mAb (PL14). Immunocytochemistry analysis of monkey Cos-7 cells transfected with 6myc-hCAP1, stained with Myc-tag mAb (PL14).
